The Courier Business Awards Shortlist 2017
It is with great pleasure and excitement that we can announce that Gowrie Contracts have been nominated for 3 Business Courier Awards this year. They are for Family, Service and Social Impact Business of the Year.

It is an honour to be nominated for these awards for the third year in succession and is testament to all the hard work put in by all Gowrie employees past and present.

We are very much looking forward to another excellent evening in the company of Gyles Brandreth and wish everyone involved the best of luck

Apprentice of the Year 2017
Gowrie Contracts are proud to be part of the ACAD Specialist Apprenticeship programme which is a CITB approved apprenticeship that gives the individual an NVQ qualification for the Licensed Asbestos sector.

As part of the ACAD Annual Awards Dinner, the prize for Apprentice of the Year 2017 was awarded to our second year apprentice Taylor Smith.

Joining Gowrie Contracts in January 2016, Taylor has worked hard both at college and onsite for this achievement.

Well Done Taylor!

Demolition of Inverness Royal Academy
Saturday 6th May 2017 saw the final sections of Inverness Royal Academy being brought down by our Demolition Team.

Gowrie Contracts have been on site since November; works have included a full strip out, asbestos removal and demolition of the entire building

10th Birthday Celebrations
In 2007 Gowrie Contracts Limited was formed and since then we've seen alot of changes within the company. We have gone from 3 men and one van to a team of over 30 operatives and an office team of 6, working all over Scotland on
demolition and asbestos removal contracts both big and small.

To celebrate we had our 10th Birthday party on Friday 21st April 2017 at the Dil'se Restaurant in Dundee
where a great night was had by all.
We would like to thank all those who attended and for the kind words we received.
Oor Wullamyn!
Gowrie Contracts are pleased to announce the appointment of our new "community liaison officer" Oor Wullamyn.

Wullamyn showed "wulling" to get out into "oor" community... And the ability to raise lots of money for charity.

On her arrival she was welcomed by Directors Jim and Martin Henderson as well as Oliver Henderson and Jude Jenkins of      St Josephs Primary School.

Oor Wullamyn is eager to get out to the various primary schools in Dundee as soon as possible and we will keep you updated as this progresses.

Congratulations to the Archie Foundation Tayside for putting on a wonderful event in the Oor Wullie Bucket Trail and subsequent auction where a total of £883,000 was raised. 
The Courier Business Awards 2016 Shortlist
After a win in 2015 of Small Business of the Year at The Courier Business Awards. We are delighted to be shortlisted in 2016 for Family Business of the Year.
The awards ceromany which took place on Saturday 29th October is a testament to various businesses in the local area for there hard work throughout the year. 

Site Safety Award
Congratulations to our Site Supervisor Jim Duthie for his Robertson Construction Site Safety Award.
Jim is currently supervising the demolition of Old Brechin High School.

The People's Tower Dundee's Royal Arch
Gowrie Contracts are delighted to be involved with helping the children in the demolition phase of the Dundee Royal Arch.  Taking place during the last weekend of May the free event is the first large-scale public interaction to take place in Dundee's new waterfront space, Slessor Gardens. Gowrie Contracts is proud to sponsor the Demolition Day on Sunday 29th May, which will see the Arch lowered to the ground before the public are invited to jump and trample on it.
